First Steps is a no-cost program for San Diego parents-to-be and parents of infants and toddlers.

To refer a family into the program:

  1. Complete the REFERRAL FORM and send it to the region of the family’s residence. We can accept fax or secure email referrals.
  2. Call the office serving the family’s zip code.

First Steps partners with a network of support programs in San Diego County that works closely together to find the best fit for the family’s needs. We can determine if a family may benefit from a program more tailored to their unique need through our screening and assessment process.

We are happy to talk with a  family over the phone, conduct an assessment in their home, and make a warm connect to one of our sister programs.
